4th 2015 Hatch Update #3

One chick did hatch yesterday, but I had to cull it, as it got stuck on the edge of the hardware cloth & started bleeding. :-( I didn’t want to do it but knew it couldn’t survive & it was the right thing to do, not let it suffer. I risked the rest of the hatch of opening up the hatcher & fixing the hardware cloth dividers, so there weren’t any sharp edges. Plus, added more water.
None of the other eggs showed signs of action until 9pm, when the 2nd chick hatched!
When I woke up with morning, there were two other chicks. A few more zipping, but look stuck. Now, at 9am, there are a total of 5 chicks already hatched.
Just want to give a brief update, before we head out for Sunday worship and a busy day of doing a rooster swap, shopping & picking up 15 rolls of heavy duty “rabbit cage” wire that’s actually great for chickens.

Excerpts from this morning’s Proverbs 15:
A cheerful heart has a continual feast.
Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and turmoil with it. ...
Better is a dish of vegetables where love is than a fattened ox served with hatred. …
The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom,
and before honor comes humility.
